1. What is the zettelkasten?

The method helps you store and organize your knowledge. Developing knowledge relationships improves memory recall and trains your mind to recognize methods.

We need to understand how our minds work so we can work our minds better.

Zettelkasten is a german word that transltes to "note box'. A zettel is a slip or note, or in org-roam a 'node'. Information gets written on a zettel and gets placed in a box(Type).

1.1. The Types of nodes

1.1.1. Temporary nodes:

These are quick notes that capture the moment. They are meant to capture thoughts so that they may be refined later.

1.1.2. Literature Nodes:

These notes are single ideas that capture key pointsand ideas from material.

1.1.3. Permanent Nodes

These are long-term notes that summarize your ideas, they do not need any context,

We keep tags so that we can jump from related ideas without searching through a large pile of notes
