Shemot 1:13
*1. Full Sentence:
וַיַּעֲבִ֧דוּ מִצְרַ֛יִם אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל _בְּפָֽרֶךְ_׃ The Egyptians ruthlessly imposed upon the Israelites
Basically they just made them do lots of work.
- בְּפָֽרֶךְ– Exhausting work that broke the body-rashi
- Raabi saadia gidion says that it was also a punishment on the mental level–they were being degraded(Shemot 1:13)
- They egyptians understood that they needed to increase the intensity–The first two phases of the plan to get rid of the jews in egypt
