South Korea is one of the most socially fucked up countries around thats not a total warzone, and it should be remembered that a lot of its current success is still a pretty recent trend. While Japan was rising back in the 70s/80s SK was still largely a backwater recovering from the war under another dictatorship. People kept on memeing about how Japan was an insight into the future with the hikkis but honestly South Korea I think is more accurate with the rise of social stratification and corpos consuming and destroying everything in their path until all thats left is soulless slop forcing the youth to grind 16 hours a day for just for the chance of a career that does not make them unofficial lower class citizens at best. They even had a head in the whole looksmaxxing shit by being the plastic surgery capital of the world years before that was even an idea elsewhere. Something about that peninsula is just cursed.

The really crazy thing is how pacified and indoctrinated your average citizen has become. And this isn't just a Korea issue, but lets say in this case: You have a country full of military aged men who undergo mandatory military service and are capable of getting their hands on–and capable of using–guns and other weapons, follow commands and military strategy and what have you. Yet no matter what tragedy seems to be happening (like the literal hostile takeover of the government by a radical feminist cult) they refuse to put those talents to use. I imagine not even 50 years ago, men would march into whatever Korean government building is equivalent to the White House and slit the throats of every corrupt suit there. Even if that wasn't the case, you'd at least get an assassination or two that would end up being celebrated. But instead, no insurrection, no nothing. Maybe a bunch of peaceful protests and a ton of whining online.

The thing that baffles me the most is that women don't realize WHY the world has been patriarchal for virtually all of history. Women are only as free as men allow them to be. It's a simple fact of nature. Not just biologically where it'd be easy to overpower women in the physical sense, but psychologically and strategically as well (although women are adept at psychological warfare, it is mostly amongst themselves, and has little to no effect on men unless they are particularly susceptible). The ONLY thing women have over men is sex. The way women control men is by using or withholding sex. This is admittedly very effective in some cases, but what's even stranger is the insistence of women to remove sex from the equation (MeToo, abortion rights, campaigning against children, promoting unhealthy lifestyles, etc.). They ought to realize that if the rope snaps, they won't have the luxury of denying sex, they'll just get raped (as evident by every Muslim country in times of chaos post-revolution). Women are really pushing their luck.
