The Meaning of Information Depends On Interpretation
* school technology1. A byte is just 8 bits — the computer interprets them based on context:
- As a number (0–255)(see: Counting In Binary)
- As a character (ASCII, UTF-8, etc.)
- As an instruction (machine code)
- As part of a pixel (RGB data)
- As audio or compressed data
- The meaning is not in the bits but in the program reading them.
