Volume is the amount of space occupied by a substance. it can be measured in many ways.
2. Measuring Volume
Liquids can be poured into graudated clinders and measured by reading the values at the botto mof the meniscus. It is important to estimate one digit between the lines.
2.1. Archimedes principle
Irregular shaped solids can be meausred by looking at the displacement of water when submerged, this concept is known as: Archimedes Principle. He discovered this when he put the crown in liquid and it rose. The amount of water displaced is the volume of the substance.
