The book of nehemia

"Great cry of the people … brethren"

• The jews were starving

• They are starving and so badly in debt they sold their farms and children into slavery to try and pay it off

• Nehemia gives up his own food so the jews can eat. The jewish commnity leaders hoarded the stuff they got from artaxerxes and nehemia was mad them for this

He made them swear an oath to return the stuff to the jews. Nehemia is a good leader because he promised safety and wellbeing

They were unified "as one man" this was an inauguration ceremony
