1. Pharisees

The Pharisees emphasized Jewish law (Torah) and its interpretation. They believed that both free will and fate played a role in human life. They were generally friendly and accessible to the broader population, which made them popular among the people. They also believed in the afterlife and the resurrection of the dead.

2. Essenes

The Essenes were more spiritual and lived isolated from mainstream society. They believed the body was a prison for the soul and focused on purity and inner discipline. They also believed in the afterlife and practiced a strict, communal lifestyle.

3. Sadducees

The Sadducees were closely connected to the Temple and the Jewish elite. They accepted only the written Torah and rejected later interpretations and traditions. They believed in free will but denied fate, the afterlife, and the resurrection of the dead. Compared to the Pharisees, they were less popular among the general population.
