2.1. 1000 BCE-King David Era

  • King david conquers jerusalem and brings the ark of covenant.

2.2. 960 BCE-King Solomon Era

  • The first temple s built
  • This is considered the jewish golden age.

2.3. 930 BCE-Judea splits

  • The kingdom splits into:
    • Israel: North
    • Judah : South

2.3.1. Why did Israel split?

  • After solomon died, rehoboam(son of solomon) refused to reduce the heavy taxes that solomon made, this caused the northern tribes to rebel under jeroboam and make a seperate northern kingdom.
  • Both kingdoms split religiously

2.4. 722 BCE-Assyrian Conquest

  • The northern kingdom of israel was destroyed by the assyrians and the tribes were exiled

2.5. 586 BCE-Babylonian Conquest

  • Judah falls
  • The babylonians destroy the first temple
