When you sin, you stray further from god. When you repent for your sins, you return to G-d.
2. Types of Repentance/Teshuva
- Between god and u You regret it and express your regret
- Between you and others
- You do that but also apologize to whoever you hurt.
3. Regrets
- Your regret is not what you did but who you hurt by doing that
3.1. Types of regrets
3.1.1. "Could've been"
- Not a valid form of regret because you dont know what woudve actually happened
- Simply a guess/speculation
3.1.2. "Should've been"
- Causes real growth
- Moves you up the ladder
- You understand your wrongdoing
3.2. What do we gain from regretting
- Regretting something that "could've" been doesnt change anything
