1.2. Negative Bases In Powers
- If the exponent is an odd number, the result will be negative
If the exponent is even, the result will be postive
\begin{equation} (-2)^2 = 4 \end{equation}
1.3. Negative Exponents in Powers
- In the case of a negative exponent, division is performed
1.4. BEDMAS and Negatives
- If the negative is outside of the brackets, the base is positive
- This is beause of BEDMAS. Negative numbers fall under subtraction so we do division/multiplication/powers before them
