- He was born in a priestly family
- He openly shared his suffering, doubts, pains, and struggles with god–He preached destruction and exile. This contributed to his unpopularity.
- His Book of lamentations is read on the 9th of av
- Some prophets supported rebellion and sometimes they didnt Jeremiah did not support the revolt, but the Zealots did.
- He was jailed for imploring Matania-Zedekiah not to revolt
- After the destruction of the temple, he wrote letters toe exiled Jews and told them to keep pushing for a community in babylon
- He was the last prophet to prophesize in israel

- Jeremiah prophesizes that in 70 years they will return to jerusalem and get their wealth back
