Shemot 1:22

וַיְצַ֣ו פַּרְעֹ֔ה לְכׇל־עַמּ֖וֹ לֵאמֹ֑ר כׇּל־הַבֵּ֣ן הַיִּלּ֗וֹד הַיְאֹ֙רָה֙ תַּשְׁלִיכֻ֔הוּ וְכׇל־הַבַּ֖ת תְּחַיּֽוּן׃ {פ} Then Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, “Every boy that is born you shall throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.”
- Thye were orderd to throw the jewish baby borns into the river (four phases of jewish removal from egypt–Torah
- This reflects pharoahs state of panic–the command was not adressed to any specific citizen, but to the entire nation
- This was the 4th stage of his plan Pharoahs plan of removing the jews–Torah.
- He understood that his previous plans failed miserably
- Rashi says:
- When moshe was born, pharoahs advisers alerted him of the birth of a jewish savior. They told him that the savior might suffer from water. THis enspired his appearl to throw baby boys int o the water
