וַיְהִי֩ בַיָּמִ֨ים הָֽרַבִּ֜ים הָהֵ֗ם וַיָּ֙מׇת֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיֵּאָנְח֧וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל מִן־הָעֲבֹדָ֖ה וַיִּזְעָ֑קוּ וַתַּ֧עַל שַׁוְעָתָ֛ם אֶל־הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים מִן־הָעֲבֹדָֽה׃ A long time after that, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites were groaning under the bondage and cried out; and their cry for help from the bondage rose up to God.

2. Explanation

  • A long time after that, the king of egypt dies and the israelites were tired and they screamed to god and he heard them

2.1. " וַיָּ֙מׇת֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ": And the king died–What will happen now?

  • There will be a more evil king
  • There will be a better king
  • THings will remain the same

2.2. Can moses go back to egypt if pharoah died?

After the pharoah died the jewish people were afraid and they needed salvation. Moses is obligated to go back to egypt to help them.

2.3. וַיָּ֙מׇת֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ: Rashi

  • When phaoah killed the baby boys, he took soome of their blood to shower. He died because he ordered every baby boy to be killed in Shemot 1:22)
