2. Fragmentation

  • Fragmentation is when we split apart certain ecosystems. This damages local wildlife because larger animals require space and are no longer able to live there anymore
  • Human infrastrcture causes a disturbance in an ecosystem
  • Fragmentation makes edge habitat and species increase, while the interior habitat and species decreases
  • The edge habitat is the outside of the interior habitat and species decreases.
