וַתֹּ֧אמֶר לָ֣הּ בַּת־פַּרְעֹ֗ה הֵילִ֜יכִי אֶת־הַיֶּ֤לֶד הַזֶּה֙ וְהֵינִקִ֣הוּ לִ֔י וַאֲנִ֖י אֶתֵּ֣ן אֶת־שְׂכָרֵ֑ךְ וַתִּקַּ֧ח הָאִשָּׁ֛ה הַיֶּ֖לֶד וַתְּנִיקֵֽהוּ׃ And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this child and nurse it for me, and I will pay your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed it.

2. Exaplanation

  • Pharoahs daughter tells miriam "take the child and feed him for me". She accepts miriams offer(Shemot 2:7) in Shemot 2:8. She trusts miriam, even though this is the first time they met.
  • Miriam took the child to yochebed(his mother) so that he could be nursed
  • In return for taking the baby to his mother, miriam would be rewarded
  • Her rebellion against her father reveals her strong character–she decided to care about the baby even though pharoah did not.
